Apply for Senior Housing with the Summit Housing Authority
“The Waiting List for Family Housing is currently closed. Public Notice will be provided when the Authority re-opens the Family Housing Waiting List”
To obtain an application you can mail a self-addressed stamped envelope to Summit Housing Authority, 512 Springfield Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901 or pick one one up at the office. To be eligible for Senior Housing, all family members must be 62 years or older.
Senior housing applications require the following information:
All public housing authorities are required to maintain a waiting list. The waiting list is organized by preferences. Waiting list preferences for the Summit Housing Authority are as follows: Summit residents (families who live or work in Summit) receive a primary preference. For applicants to senior housing only, resident preference is extended to parents of Summit residents. Secondary preference is given to working families, seniors (62 years of age or older) or families with disabled head-of-household.
- Current address and contact information for the applicant family
- Names, ages and social security numbers of all people who will reside in the unit
- A complete listing of gross family income from all sources
- A complete listing of all family assets and bank accounts
- Out-of-pocket medical expenses.
The Summit Housing Authority does not provide emergency shelter services. Families in need of emergency shelter should contact their local social service agency.
